Psalm 108:1: My heart is confident, God; I will sing; I will sing praises with the whole of my being.
So David knows that Saul and his men are closing in on him, and instead of getting into the fetal position and waiting for them to delivering the blow that will end his life, He remembers the mightiness of GOD. He actually reflects on the strength of GOD and his inability to fail, and says to himself...." my heart is confident, God,....." he literally encourages himself into praising GOD and not just with his lips but he said with my whole being (soul included). As a worship leader I am always amazed, encouraged, and sometimes brokenhearted by the response of the congregation. What is it that keeps people from lifting their hands, raising their voices, standing to their feet and taking full participation in the opportunity to proclaim the name of JESUS in worship service? It's super encouraging when you see men, women, and children giving themselves in worshipping GOD, especially considering that if you have any intentions on going to heaven, this is GREAT PRACTICE, cause you don't read that the Angels are doing anything less than praising Him in all eternity!
SO will you....allow your mind to reflect on GOD's promises to (never leave you, resuce you, to love you) you, not your problems so that you can give yourself away in praise? P.S. you don't have to wait til Sunday/Saturday either.....I drive past and alongside people that just don't care....and it's a blessing to me!
My song selections today are " I Give Myself Away" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ld1cXry5nyM
and "Encourage Yourself" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbEaftzaFWA&ob=av3e
Here's my warning if you have no intentions in losing yourself.......don't click onto I Give Myself Away.....it's a medley with Here I Am to Worship too, which makes it long.....and...well I don't anyone stopping their praise because of time.....
